FAQs
How do the pack hikes work?
Our hikes are approximately 2 hours in length. We send your pick up time slot by Monday the week of your hike, which is also when payment is due. We will be there to grab your pup and bring them on their adventure at that time! The hikes include mental stimulation, supervised socialization and lots of running and play time. When it is time to go home, we do our best to check for any parts of the forest left on your pup & bring them home, safe, clean"ish", and tired!
I have a small dog, are the hikes still suitable?
You bet they are! We have lots of small dogs join our packs! We make sure to place them with a suitable pack so that they are not caught under foot of some of our bigger dogs. As we all know, little dogs have some of the most energy, so they really benefit a lot from the exercise.
In addition, our hikes are also structured in a way that focuses on socialization at some times and mental stimulation activities.
My dog is a "COVID" dog, can your hikes help?
Can they ever! We have LOTS of "COVID" pups and have seen some amazing success! We are well versed in K9 socialization, and have all the patience in the world to work with your pup and get them comfortable with us, and usually jumping at the door excited to come for their hike. Check out our testimonials for some of our favourite success stories!
It doesn't seem like my dog is running and playing on the hikes, is it still beneficial?
We can only capture so much on our phones, but lots happens in 2 hours! Most all of our pups play at some point, but others aren't as apt or energetic as some. They are all individuals, and just like us - have different energy levels. However we allow for lots of sniffing time which is so beneficial and a huge serotonin boost for our K9 loves.
This is one of the major reasons we do introductory hikes, so that we can get to know your pups and place them with the pack where we think they will benefit the most, and make some great friendships, sometimes, unlikely friendships.
What if there's a dog fight?
This doesn't happen often, however - it does happen. All of our pack leaders are trained on how to break up a dog fight and are pet first aid certified in case of any injuries. This is why introductory hikes are so important, so we are able to place your pup in a pack where they are perfectly matched both energetically and mentally.
My dogs a runner, won't you lose them?
We are an off-leash service, so sure there is a chance they could run, however its doesn't happen for a number of reasons.
Our property is fenced.
All of our pack members wear a GPS - so even if they do leave our sight, we can still see them.
Dogs don't tend to run away just because, they run because they need it. When in this environment they stay in the pack 99% of the time, because we let them be dogs, they have no reason to run away.
Are PAWrents allowed to join the hikes?
Unfortunately not, due to our insurance policy.
Is the property fenced?
It sure is!
Are there any hiking packages?
There is, send us an email to inquire.
What's the benefit of a membership?
While our membership perks are growing, some benefits include a discounted price for weekly hikes and a discounted boarding price.
How many dogs are on the pack hikes?
We max out at 10 dogs per hike.
